The Mission The Shanti Project seeks to promote the economic and social well-being of marginalized women and children, bridging resources and needs by providing a forum for stagnating traditions and skills. Shanti seeks not only to break free the chains of poverty and prostitution, but to encourage empowerment.
The Work The idea is to provide not merely funding, but rather a means for the population to sustain themselves financially within occupations that utilize traditional skills. This preservation of rich cultural inheritances will benefit the well-being of these women and their families while also providing the opportunity to discontinue their reliance upon human trafficking as a means of livelihood.
