Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine

The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine is to provide children facing adversity in Androscoggin, Hancock, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Penobscot, Somerset, Waldo Counties with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Our vision is that all children achieve success in life.

By partnering with parents, guardians, volunteers, schools, and community organizations, we are accountable for each child in our program achieving:

• Higher aspirations, greater confidence, and better relationships
• Avoidance of risky behaviors
• Educational success

At the heart of all that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine does is our steadfast commitment to measuring and continuously refining our programs to ensure the most effective and longest-lasting impact possible. We hold ourselves accountable to the donors, partners, advocates, and families that make our work possible. We hold ourselves accountable to the hundreds of volunteers who make a difference in the lives of children each and every day. Most importantly, we hold ourselves accountable to a generation of children ready to be positively impacted by our mentoring programs.
