Read Santa Clara exists to provide free one-on-one and small group tutoring to English speaking adults in the City of Santa Clara to help them improve their reading,writing and math skills and help them reach their goals in their family, work and community lives. We train volunteer tutors from the community and match them with adult learners who read and/or write at or below the 8th grade level. Our tutors meet with learners for at least 2 hours a week for six months. In addition, for learners with children under the age of five, we invite theif families to special family nights at the library so they can learn how to help their children discover the magic of reading.
