Healing Broken Circles provides opportunities to heal, learn, and thrive for those touched by the justice system. For 12 years, we have run an innovative community center behind prison walls at Marion Correctional, a men's medium security prison in Ohio. Our core programs are:
- strength-based, healing-centered and collaborative
- based in positive attitudes about people's dignity, capacities, rights, uniqueness and commonalities
- mindful of the wide-ranging needs of the individual and the community
- developed in partnership with those impacted by incarceration, addiction, and adversity
Through events, such as the first TEDx in prison, healing and learning extend beyond prison walls, helping all of us rethink our assumptions around who prisoners are and how they should be treated.
