    ABOUT BUILDING BRIDGES ACROSS THE RIVER (www.bbardc.org)

    Building Bridges Across the River (BBAR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that seeks to improve the quality of life for children and adults who reside east of the Anacostia River. In order to combat past and current structural inequities, BBAR develops and manages facilities and programs in Wards 7 and 8 including the 11th Street Bridge Park, Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus (THEARC), THEARC Farm, THEARC Theater and the Skyland Workforce Center. BBAR is best known for THEARC development (www.thearcdc.org), which at 203,000 square feet represents the largest social service, multisector, nonprofit collaboration in the country.

    Led by President, Rahsaan Bernard, and championed by a high-profile, engaged Board of Directors, BBAR is well-positioned to continue its efforts to build bridges of opportunity and community. 

    BBAR’s energizing work environment makes it an optimal place for highly-motivated, tenacious and friendly individuals to succeed and grow within the organization. BBAR’s office is located on the campus of THEARC in southeast DC.
