Forest Hills Educational Trust of Boston, MA

Sobre Nós

The Forest Hills Educational Trust was founded to preserve, interpret, enhance and celebrate historic Forest Hills Cemetery, one of Boston’s most beautiful and resonant historic sites. Founded in 1848, Forest Hills is regarded as one of the country’s most magnificent Victorian garden-style cemeteries and an open air museum. 275 acres of green space just minutes from downtown Boston feature an arboretum, a carefully preserved romantic landscape, and a nationally recognized collection of 19th and early 20th century memorial sculpture. People buried here include poets Anne Sexton and e.e. cummings, abolitionist William Lloyd Garrison, women’s rights advocate Lucy Stone, and many fascinating but less well known individuals who have shaped the evolution of Boston. The Trust promotes the use and appreciation of this free regional resource through diverse and innovative programs, including adventurous contemporary art initiatives and humanities-based interpretive programs.
