American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives from cancer and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.

For over 40 years, the American Cancer Society has owned and operated a chain of specialty resale stores, created to help support the fight against cancer. The American Cancer Society Discovery Shops accomplish this through the sale of high quality, gently used, donated merchandise. These special items which are displayed in beautiful, intimate settings, include clothing, collectibles, jewelry, artwork, furniture and other household finery. The shops are staffed primarily by dedicated volunteers, many of whom have been personally touched by cancer.
