El Paso Collaborative for Community and Economic Development

The mission of the El Paso Collaborative for Community and Economic Development is to facilitate affordable housing, homeownership and economic development in the region. It is committed to building the capacity of local community development corporations (CDCs) to develop and manage a variety of housing programs and services. The Collaborative operates a Community Design Center that provides technical assistance in the planning, financing, development and design to approximately 20 CDCs in our network. It also provides them with organizational and housing training and technical assistance, facilitates partnerships and improves communication between the CDCs, government and the private sector. The Collaborative is certified by the US Treasury Department as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). As such, it operates a loan fund to finance home improvements and micro-business investment for non-traditional borrowers.
