    Sobre Nós

Organization History: The Texas Center for the Missing (formerly Gabriel's Gifts) is a 501c3, missing persons organization formed in March of 2000 after the disappearance of 17 year-old Gabriel Lester, who was reported missing from his private high school in Austin. Gabriel's mother, a Houston-area business woman, founded the organization after the four-month disappearance and tragic loss of her son, Gabriel, and the organization is driven to help keep children safe. Program Descriptions: Texas Center for the Missing provides missing child prevention and education programs to children and adults; administers the Houston Regional Amber Alert and Silver Alert Systems; and coordinates the training and missing person search activities of the member organizations of the Southeast Texas Search and Rescue Alliance. Additionally, we educate the public on missing child issues and train law enforcement officers in the use of the local Amber Alert/Silver Alert and other missing person search techniques and resources.
