The Baywatch Project was set up in 1992 to preserve and protect the marine wildlife of Algoa Bay, South Africa. We have a multi faceted approach, which includes education of the local schools, aiding outside marine biologists and engaging in our own research.
One of our main drives is to conduct sea surveys, look for, record and carry out examinations of dead birds found on the shore line. This is coupled with using African Penguins as an indicator of the condition of the ocean.
At present we have decided to use volunteers in order to increase our research capabilities.
Look forward to answering any questions that you might have.
