Furnish Forward

We work with individuals and families who are transitioning from unhoused to housed. When they have obtained stable housing , we provide furniture and household goods to make their house a home.

Our clients are referred by local social service agencies. We meet and talk with the client, measure and photograph their new place. The lead designer then begins to draw items from our inventory of new and gently used items to furnish the entire home with that specific client in mind.

We arrange a date we call an ANew Day, request a volunteer crew to meet at the client address, the client is asked to leave for approximately 4 hours while we transform the space into a home. We greet the client on their return and welcome them home.

We are an all volunteer organization with no paid staff. Volunteers are critical to our ability to transform these spaces where people may be sleeping on the floor and without even a can opener. Or goal is to provide a comfortable and safe space to allow them to focus on the future.
