FRIENDS OF SUMNER REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER INC

In February 2010, the volunteer unit became a 501(c)3 not-for-profit entity known as Friends of Sumner Regional Medical Center, Inc. The Board of Directors was created according to federal guidelines for volunteer units that serve hospitals. That board is composed of eight directors and two advisory members. These directors are all active volunteers.

The Board of Directors help initiate five patient-focused projects and one community-focused project. Through out the year these members help raise funds to support those projects that benefit our patients at SRMC.

The five patient-focused are as follows:

1. Food Pantry

2. Gas Vouchers

3. Clothes Closet

4. Cancer Support Groups

5. Sleep Sacks

The community-focused project are Medical Scholarships to 3 local colleges
