Fundación Juan Pablo

(EN) Fundación Juan Pablo is a local organisation aiming to improve the lives of the children in the cancer clinic of the central hospital in San Luis Potosí, México. As a volunteer you'll be involved in and responsible for organising creative and sportive activities for the children. The organisation mostly works with local volunteers between 16 and 30, and does not frequently have international volunteers, which makes the experience unique.

(Personal testimony) I found this organisation through several local contacts. Because it's not an international volunteer program, you don't need to pay to volunteer and you'll experience an incredible gratitude, both from patients and the organisation itself, that I didn't encounter in any of the typical 'volunteering programs'. Because of these reasons, I'll stay involved in the organisation and help them to find other international volunteers via idealist.org.
