Henry's Home takes in rescued and surrendered horses giving them a forever home and meaningful work in our Horses & Heroes Equine Learning Program. This program offers veterans and first responders the opportunity to spend as much time with our 26 horses as they want, including ground training, riding and driving lessons, at no cost ever. Horses are the very best therapists and teachers, and we all find healing working with them.
Civilians over the age of 18 are welcome to join our all-volunteer organization as regular daily or weekly volunteers, but you should not expect to work with the horses. There are opportunities to work with them but only if you are willing to really jump in here as a regular volunteer. There are plenty of jobs and projects around the ranch that you will be welcome to pitch in with. And we can always use your help running the business, especially if you can help with data entry, spreadsheet and other office skills, fundraising or grant research, etc.
If you would like to bring out a group for a one-day, morning or afternoon volunteer opportunity, we can always find something fun for your group to do that will be a huge help to us as we grow our programs and build out and maintain our sanctuary property. There is nothing like working outside, with your hands out in nature, together, to bring a team closer, learn new skills.
