Jose Elias-Torres is running as a write-in candidate for Lake County Commissioner District 2 to protect what makes Lake County home, demand responsible planning, and respect the people who pay the bills.

The campaign believes Lake County can welcome new families and opportunity without leaving longtime residents, rural communities, public safety, infrastructure, natural spaces, and household budgets behind. Jose’s mission is to bring a prepared, accountable, people-first voice to county government by listening to residents, asking hard questions, and advocating for transparent decisions that put Lake County people first.

Jose Elias-Torres for Lake County Commissioner District 2 is a community-focused write-in campaign rooted in a simple belief: Lake County’s future should be planned with the people who already call it home.

Jose is a husband, son, caregiver, homeowner in Minneola, and business professional with more than 12 years of experience in operations, healthcare, pharmacy, telecommunications, and consulting. Throughout his career, he has built systems, improved broken processes, managed teams and budgets, and created accountability tools that help organizations serve people better. He is bringing that practical, service-minded experience to his campaign for county commissioner.

The campaign serves and speaks for Lake County residents who want to be heard, including families, seniors, homeowners, renters, small-business owners, farmers, caregivers, and residents in established and rural communities. Its priorities are:

• Protecting Lake County’s community roots, natural beauty, rural character, neighborhoods, small businesses, and quality of life.
• Demanding responsible planning so roads, water, drainage, Fire/EMS, public safety, and county services can keep pace with major growth.
• Respecting taxpayer dollars through clear long-term cost analysis, accountable spending, and transparent government.
• Supporting public safety, first responders, healthcare access, seniors, caregivers, and medically vulnerable residents.
• Making county government easier to understand, easier to use, and more responsive to the people it serves.

Jose is not running to stop progress. He recognizes that he is part of Lake County’s growth as a homeowner in Minneola. He is running to make sure progress does not come at the expense of the people already here. As one voice on a five-member board, he will come prepared, listen, study the issues, ask hard questions, and advocate for decisions that are responsible, transparent, and centered on residents.
