Sobre Nós

In 1987, the Society for Excellence through Education (SEE), a non-profit organization, was founded to operate the Israel Arts and Science Academy. SEE also operates other programs in the field of gifted education.

The Academy is a national, residential senior high school with a current enrollment of just over 200 Israeli students. Established in 1990, it was designed to provide Israel's most promising young people with the best education possible. The goal of the Academy is to graduate well educated, deeply committed, socially responsible adults who are independent learners.

SEE initiated the Mitchell Excellence 2000 outreach enrichment program to answer the intellectual needs of curious and motivated junior high school students who might lose those valuable qualities without experiencing a suitable, satisfactory challenge. Excellence 2000 offers extraordinary opportunities to bring bright and motivated youngsters living in disadvantaged communities, the periphery of society, into the technological and scientific revolution currently underway.

To further the concept of intellectual achievement, SEE hosts summer camps for outstanding participants of the Excellence 2000 program. The camps, held at the Academy in Jerusalem, srael, offer talented 8th-grade students the opportunity to study engaging subjects not generally offered in the junior high school system.

Another project of SEE (in conjunction with our longtime partner, the Weizmann Institute of Science) is the Chais Family Exploration Camp, in operation since 1987. Exploration Camp provides a concentrated two-week interdisciplinary study opportunity for sixty students with special talents in science, art or music.

The Raphi Amram Center for Creative Education (RACCE) was established in 1998 to foster leadership, excellence and social responsibility in education. To further those goals, RACCE holds annual educational conferences for educators at the Israel Arts and Science Academy in conjunction with the Ministry of Education.
