SoundCareKids

SoundCareKids is a grief support program for children, teens and the adults who care for them. Our six-week grief support group series is offered four times each year. Ongoing illness-support groups meet once a month.The support groups provide a safe space in which children and their parents can express their feelings in creative, experiential ways with others who understand; make friends with others who have also experienced the illness or death of a family member or friend; learn coping skills; and communicate more openly and naturally about illness and death.

Groups are planned and supervised by a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and facilitated by volunteers from the community who have been through background checks and are provided with specialized bereavment training. We also have trained and certified therapy dogs who attend group with the children. SoundCareKids is a program provided free of charge by Providence SoundHomeCare and Hospice.
