Since 2011, Street Books has dispatched mobile bicycle libraries and librarians in the city of Portland, offering good books and community to people living outside and at the margins. Originally launched as a 3-month art project, we have grown into a thriving organization and are known for our nimble grassroots scrappy unconventional radical hospitality and our commitment, care, and responsiveness on the streets of Portland. We believe in the dignity of every person and the transformative power of authentic relationships and good books.
