High Jump is a tuition-free, two-year academic enrichment program for talented and motivated 7th and 8th grade students from families with limited financial resources. The program, founded in 1989, prepares students for leading public, parochial, and independent day and boarding college preparatory high schools.
Students meet for six weeks during the summer and two times a month on Saturdays during the school year. The academic instruction that students receive at High Jump is intended to strengthen math, reading and writing skills as well as enhance critical thinking, problem solving and study skills. To achieve this goal, High Jump offers a rigorous curriculum and sustains a high level of interaction between faculty and students by maintaining a class size of ten to sixteen students. High Jump teachers are professional educators who teach in a variety of public and private schools and colleges throughout Chicago. To learn more, visit www.highjumpchicago.org.
