Started in 1934 after the Great Depression to provide employment for artists, the Indianapolis Art Center stays true to its mission by hiring professional artists as faculty (classes and outreach), exhibiting the work of working artists (exhibitions) and selling artist-made gifts and art (gift shop and Broad Ripple Art Fair).
