IGD is dedicated to increasing the independence of blind and visually impaired individuals. IGD breeds, raises and trains high-quality German Shepherd Guide Dogs and delivers them right to the clients home for training in their familiar community. The organization values nondisruptive, one-on-one training for our clients and is working to end the institutionalization of blind and visually impaired people. IGD is the first kennel-free guide dog training program in North America and takes great care to insure future guide dogs are treated with the utmost love and care by allowing future guide dog puppies to live with families rather than a boarding kennel.
