Our mission is "to create communities with an increased capacity for compassion and a decreseased tolerance for cruelty." As an open access animal shelter, we don't turn animals away, domestic pets or wildlife. In addition we operate a subsidized veterinary clinic for limited income families, support to families who need assistance in fostering, food or medical care for their pets. Our services to human beings include pet therapy visits to nursing homes and other institutions, humane education programs to 28,000 children annually, summer camps, environmental education programs and much more. We operate a disaster response program during hurricanes and other emergencies. Our Neuter Scooter travels a 100 mile radiums to provide low cost spay/neuter services.
