Mayor Bloomberg and Chancellor Klein have made the innovation of Career and Technical education (CTE) an essential element of New York City’s education reform effort. With the creation of a Mayoral Task Force on CTE Innovation, a broad agenda to develop an expanding portfolio of CTE options across the city has emerged. In addition to sustaining and improving the quality of existing CTE schools and programs, new CTE demonstration sites will be developed for 2009.
