Salem Harbor Community Development Corporation

The Salem Harbor Community Development Corporation is a nonprofit, community-based organization that promotes economic empowerment and community building, primarily for Salem residents, and when appropriate, with the surrounding North Shore communities. Our goals are: Developing decent, affordable rental and ownership housing; Enabling people to obtain skills to get a job and earn a living wage; Organizing for community power; and Increasing access to knowledge and capital in order to grow neighborhood businesses.

Founded in 1979 to create affordable housing for Salem’s Point neighborhood, the Salem Harbor CDC now offers the following programs: affordable rental and cooperative housing; affordable home ownership; small business assistance; community organizing; first-time homebuyer’s training; adult education; and an arts-based youth leadership program.
