Mshikamano Foundation

The mission of Mshikamano Foundation is to improve people’s lives and empower them to create a just and inclusive society by addressing all forms of social injustice (economic inequality, inadequate access to education and healthcare and discrimination against marginalized groups and vulnerable communities including women, children, youth, disabled persons in Uganda and to promote their social economic well-being, including women’s education and rights, as well as children’s social, educational, cultural and economic situation, and other life-changing resources for all marginalized groups in Uganda through the spirit of Ubuntu - emphasizing interconnectedness and shared humanity.

To achieve this, Mshikamano Foundation implements an array of complementary programs throughout the country, supporting vulnerable and marginalized individuals to actively participate in the creation of an open and inclusive society, where difference and diversity are seen as positive elements, strengthening and enriching individual lives and experiences.

As a faith based non-profit, humanitarian organization, our goal is to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable and marginalized groups of our society, without discrimination based on model of building relationships intentionally to imitate what we recognized Jesus doing throughout His life. Though he was God, he chose a humble life of increasing dignity and love amongst those who found themselves on the margins. He also spoke against systems that oppressed or perpetuated injustice. We want to see a world of equity, inclusion, and just systems where everyone lives a flourishing life.
