In California 4,000 18-year old youths will “age out” of the foster care system and will no longer receive state care. 65% are homeless, only 2% attend college, 51% are unemployed and 46% have not completed high school.In Los Angeles County alone, once a foster youth ages out of the system, only two out of ten will make it in life. The rest will end up homeless, on drugs, incarcerated, or dead before their 24th birthday.

It is our passion to let these youth know they are winners! At We LIFT LA, we want positive role models, mentors who offer acceptance, support and encouragement. We LIFT so these youth Living in Foster Transition can WIN-IN-LIFE!

WE LIFT LA, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit corporation whose mission is to empower transitional aged foster youth by providing residential housing and support services that make the shift from foster care to independence seamless and successful.We LIFT LA empowers transitional-aged foster youth (ages 18-24) by providing mentor relationships, housing, programs and life skill services including financial planning, career development, academic guidance, recreational activities and more.

We LIFT LA is looking for people who want to make a difference in the lives of youth in our community. Opportunities include mentorship, life skills workshops, graduation to adulthood program, housing, throwing a purpose party.
