Collaborative Opportunities for Raising Empowerment, Inc.

CORE's primary vision is to empower Filipino professionals as a collective body in the United States. It also seeks to provide an avenue for socio-economic involvement to build a stronger Filipino American community.

Now in its eighth year, Collaborative Opportunities for Raising Empowerment, Inc. (CORE) has impacted the Filipino and Asian American communities through its approach to building bridges across organizations. To date, CORE has collaborated with more than 100 groups that include educational institutions, publicly-held corporations, community-based organizations, grassroots collectives, and government entities.

CORE's activities include READ Philippines, an initiative by the Philippine Consulate General that establishes Philippine book collections in public and school libraries throughout Metropolitan New York area; "Harnessing Individual Successes Toward Collective Empowerment," the annual summit that gathers and empowers young professionals (with attendees hailing nationally); yearly lighting of the Empire State Building in the colors of the Philippine flag; and numerous programs and projects that provide professional and personal value to our membership and society.
