VERITAS EDUCATION LEADERS - BranchOut!

BranchOut!, the 21st Century Multicultural STEM Education Project, aims to promote STEM/STEAM engagement by empowering high school students with the knowledge and skills they need to facilitate success in their future careers. As a youth community outreach program, we strive to connect communities through education, innovation, and inspiration by reinforcing strong mentor-mentee relationships and closing achievement gaps.

BranchOut! started with 20 student mentors in 2016 to over 150 student mentors serving over 900 students at 9 different locations in Maryland and Virginia in 2019 in the DC/MD/VA metropolitan area. In 2023, we established our new Boston Chapter - join us today!

• We are an Official Certifying Organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award
• We were awarded the Gold Star Group volunteer award from the Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services Dept in 2019.
• Our educational app, SOLve, received 2nd place in the US Congressional App Challenge in 2019.
• In 2019, we established a Howard County Chapter.

In a typical year for BranchOut!..

1. Mentors on the Tutoring Team provide 1-on-1 support to youth through The Howard County Autism Society, Fairfax County Public Schools, Belong! Vienna, and the Community Art Center in Cambridge, MA.
2. The Career Panels team hosts multiple virtual events featuring accomplished individuals from various industries to provide insight for all interested students.
3. The Innovator Team continues designing the SOLve app, a program intended to help students study for SOLs.
4. The Explorer Team writes, designs, and publishes on-line magazines focusing on youth empowerment topics.
5. ALL BranchOut! mentors receive high quality leadership, communication, and professionalism training from our staff.
