Sobre Nós

DOPC was formally launched on April 12, 2011, the 70th anniversary of the opening to the public of Dumbarton Oaks Park, a leading exemplar of American landscape design. The 27-acre park, once part of the 53-acre Dumbarton Oaks estate of Mildred and Robert Woods Bliss, was given to the National Park Service (NPS) in the autumn of 1940, while its sister site (the 16 acres and formal gardens of Dumbarton Oaks) was given to Harvard University and is managed by a completely separate organization. The Conservancy is an official philanthropic partner to the National Park Service and works in partnership with NPS to restore, promote, and maintain Dumbarton Oaks Park.
