Colorado Plateau Foundation's Mission Statement

The Colorado Plateau Foundation is a Native-led and place-based funder that combines grantmaking and programming to build Native-led organizational and community capacity on the Plateau to protect water, sacred places, and endangered landscapes, promote food security, and preserve languages.

Vision

The Colorado Plateau Foundation envisions thriving Native-led organizations creating movements and momentum in their communities supported by bold philanthropic giving and shared learning. 

CPF understands that it takes skilled, resilient leaders to change policies and systems, do the hard work of protecting water, protect sacred places and endangered landscapes, provide food security through sustainable community-based agriculture, and preserve Native languages. 

Across the Colorado Plateau, nonprofit organizations and Tribal governments are tackling tremendous challenges with limited support, especially in times of pandemic, social upheaval, and climate change. CPF's programs are a crucial strategy for ensuring the success of key individuals, their organizations, and the networks and movements they work within.
