With the assistance of community partners, reduce the effects of poverty by assisting low and moderate wage earners and economically disadvantaged residents of Eastern Virginia achieve self-sufficiency through program and service initiatives which encompass education, employment, housing and health for the improvement of their quality of life.

STOP Inc., a designated Community Action Agency, located in Virginia Beach, has been Supporting Transformational Opportunities for People in Eastern Virginia for over 50 years. Stop serves diverse low-to-moderate income populations in 8 cities and 4 counties: Chesapeake, Franklin, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach and the Counties of Accomack, Isle of Wight, Northampton and Southampton. We are committed to advocacy, education, intervention, and empower-ment of individuals, families and communities. As reflected in our Community Action Promise, STOP is dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other.
