Ha!Qua Youth Program

Mission:

To use empowerment, training and integrated sustainable development planning processes to create economic activities for the vulnerable youth and women in the Hessequa area

Promote sustainable economic opportunities and growth that is shared across and within our communities in the Hessequa area

To engage, empower and develop all street children and youth through the HYP programmes

To develop sustainable programmes for the vulnerable youth and women within our communities

Develop sustainable partnerships with government, private sector and communities

To develop and train the vulnerable youth and women in the Hessequa area through democracy training and ethics

Background History:

• Ha!Qua is a registered Non Profit Organization - NPO : Number 045-720
• A Non Profit Organization “Welfare type“ operating within the boundries of the Hessequa Municipal Area : Melkhoutfontein, Stilbaai, Jongensfontein, Witsand, Gouritsmond, Bietoville, Vermaaklikheid, Slangrivier, Heidelberg, Riversdale, Albertinia and the surrounding rural areas
• To also help other NGO’s and NPO’s in other municipal areas with similar vision when needed
• Population of Hessequa according to 2004 Eden survey is estimated at 54 000
• Working agreements with the Hessequa Municipality

Control and Management:

The Constitution of Ha!Qua forms the legal basis for all operations

A Management Committee, annually elected at an AGM, executes the requirements of the constitution

Membership is guaranteed to members of the community, which ensures community participation and involvement with the same common goal

Management consists of an executive, i.e. Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Deputy-Secretary, Treasurer and six (6) Additional Members
