E-MAC Tanzania was initially developed in early 2010 as a Community Based Organization (CBO) by development practitioners who were working in different international NGOs and research institutions to support community initiatives and mostly those left by donors after project phase out. In 2012 E-MAC Tanzania got recognized at district level and later in 2013 was fully registered to operate at national level (Tanzania mainland).
The overall goal has been to reduce poverty among marginalised communities, achieve gender equality and empower youth, women and girls at all aspect of life. So, far E-MAC has empowered over 200,121 lives in rural Tanzanian communities in the areas of Water, Sanitation and hygiene, economic solutions, climate resilience and health.
