Built in 1878, the Ypsilanti Freighthouse originally served as the distribution center for rail-bound goods. Now owned by the city of Ypsilanti and operated, managed and cared for by the non-profit Friends of the Ypsilanti Freighthouse, the facility serves as a gathering space for private and community events alike. Each event booked in this historic space helps fund and pay for keep this space preserved for generations to come.
From Threads All Arts Festival, non-profit galas, First Fridays Ypsilanti events, and town hall meetings to personal milestones like weddings, anniversaries, reunions and graduation parties, the space plays host to a myriad of celebratory moments in the lives of Ypsilanti's diverse community.
