The mission of the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs (JCUA) is to combat poverty, racism and anti-Semitism in partnership with Chicago's diverse communities. We organize a progressive Jewish community to collaborate with communities directly impacted by poverty and racism toward realizing a shared vision of justice.
Our work includes four central program areas: 1) Issue-based Organizing; 2) Youth Organizing and Education; 3) Community Development; and 4) Advancing Racial Equity.
In order to maximize our impact, JCUA develops and mobilizes a base of individuals from the Jewish community who are reached and engaged in a variety of ways. Some become leaders in our campaigns and initiatives, and others take action and participate in other ways.
