PLANE UGANDA PROFILE

PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) Uganda is a nationally registered nonprofit organization based in Fort Portal Tourism City, Kabarole District, Western Uganda.

At PLANE, our programs are designed to create lasting impact in the lives of children, women, and families across the Rwenzori region.

Founded in 2010, we combine advocacy, education, empowerment, and community-driven initiatives to tackle the root causes of poverty, violence, and inequality.

Key Areas of Focus

Health Awareness and Social Security

• • Health Promotion: Educating communities on general health awareness on issues of Family Planning, sexual reproductive health rights, malaria prevention, cervical cancer screening, HIV/AIDS etc.
  • Social Security: Providing economic empowerment for teenage mothers.
  • Violence Prevention: Advocating against violence toward children and women.

Educational Support

• • Orphans and Vulnerable Children: Providing scholastic materials (uniform, shoes, soap, bags, jelly, sanitary pads and school fees to ensure access to quality education).
  • Youth Empowerment: Implementing programs that support youth education, with a focus on girl child education and teenage mothers’ empowerment.

Women & Youth Empowerment

• • Livelihood Interventions: Supporting rural women and youth through skills development and livelihood projects.
  • Maternal and Reproductive Health: Conducting awareness campaigns and health clinics to ensure women and adolescent girls have access to essential healthcare services.

Gender-Based Violence Prevention

• • Support Services: Offering counseling to GBV survivors, legal support, and community outreach to protect women and girls from abuse and discrimination. We also conduct radio drama and talk shows to create awareness about GBV and mitigate its effects among children and women.

Environmental Education and Conservation

• • Sustainable Practices: Promoting environmental responsibility through tree planting initiatives using children in our project called “Greening Uganda Project”, waste management projects, and awareness programs.

Faith Builders School Mission

• PLANE initiated a school-based gospel outreach initiative to foster spiritual growth and moral transformation among children and adolescents in schools by preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, nurturing biblical values, and empowering young people to live purpose-driven lives rooted in faith.
