Sobre Nós

Established as an international center for scholars, the Center memorializes Woodrow Wilson -- professor, university president, and twenty-eighth president of the United States -- by supporting scholarship and linking that scholarship to issues of concern to official Washington. It does so by offering fellowships and other support to high-level professors, public officials, journalists, professionals and other leaders, giving them special opportunities for research and writing. Also in support of scholarship, the Center hosts seminars and conferences, and it provides a variety of publications and broadcasting.

The Latin American Program fosters new research, sponsors high-level public and private meetings among a broad range of stakeholders, and explores policy options to improve outcomes for citizens throughout the Americas. The Latin American Program works to:

  • Interpret Latin America’s rising international prominence and influence
  • Foster sustainable and inclusive economic growth
  • Promote democratic governance and the rule of law
  • Enhance citizen security and safety
  • Improve the quality of U.S.-Latin American relations
