VoiceWaves teaches journalism and multimedia skills to committed and engaged Long Beach youth from 15 to 24 years old. Through creative expression, the youth learn how to use writing, photography, video, radio and social media to produce stories for a healthy Long Beach.
VoiceWaves is committed to being a megaphone for the many diverse voices that are Long Beach. We tell stories of health, safe communities, environment, gender, art and culture, housing, immigration, the economy and youth. We discover stories through dialogue and community engagement.
VoiceWaves is a project of New America Media with the support of the California Endowment in partnership with Building Healthy Communities Long Beach.
