Khunum Productions

Khunum Productions is a live performing arts company dedicated to the art of Creative Anthropology. We use theater to explore what makes us human. Founded by award-winning director and creative anthropologist Nehprii Amenii, we create highly visual, narrative-based works that blend the personal, the social, and the magical. Rooted in African diasporic heritage and boldly avant-garde in form, our productions bridge ancestral knowledge with innovative performance - reshaping how audiences experience theater. Our vision and capacity extend to creating works on a global scale, capable of meeting the creative demands of international festivals, cultural milestones, and world-stage ceremonies.

Our work has been recognized and supported by the National Endowment for the Arts (multi-year recipient), New York State Council on the Arts, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, New York Women in Media, New York Foundation for the Arts, The Drama League, Center for Puppetry Arts, Alvin Ailey, the Jim Henson Foundation, The Shed, La MaMa, and the New York Philharmonic.
