  • Missão

The Advo-Kids Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Program is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide trained, screened, and supervised volunteers to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in juvenile court deprivation proceedings within the Griffin Judicial Circuit.

    Sobre Nós

Advo-Kids CASA trains and supervises volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children in the juvenile court system in Fayette, Pike, Spalding, and Upson Counties. A CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) assesses the child's situation through interviews with the child, parents, guardians, caretakers, social workers, and other service providers. The CASA reports to the judge what is in the best interest for the child as well as advocates for their needs and wishes outside of the courtroom.

CASA's role starts after the children have been removed from the home and enter the Georgia court system. A judge can appoint a CASA at his or her discretion who then gathers information about the child's situation, attends court proceedings, and makes recommendations to the judge in order to better inform his or her decision concerning the child's future.
