East Texas Child Advocates, Inc.

East Texas Child Advocates, Inc. is a non-profit umbrella agency housing three different programs relating to child safety and security. The three programs are as follows:

Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) - The CAC is a program that addresses sexual and serious physical abuse and assault of children. When a child is suspected of being victimized, law enforcement or Child Protective Services bring them to our facility. We aid in the investigation by providing a child-friendly environment with trained, sensitive forensic interviewers who interview the children about their experience. We also help the children and their non-offending caregivers by assisting with Crime Victim's Compensation applications and by advocating for them if their case goes to court. We also provide sexual assault prevention, child abuse awareness, bullying prevention, and other trainings to children and adults in the East Texas area.

Getting Together Safely (GTS) - GTS provides a safe, supervised environment for children to visit and spend time with parents that otherwise may not be safe for them. All clients are court-ordered to receive only supervised visitation with their children for a variety of reasons. Children, regardless of many of the circumstances, want and need for their personal relationships with thei parents to continue and GTS provides that service.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) - The CASA program provides employees and volunteers to children who have been removed from their home by Child Protective Services for allegations of abuse. When a child is removed, whatever the reason, they are likely to be scared, confused, and may feel very alone. CASA workers help to give that child a voice by advocating for them to the court, ensuring their continued safety and security, and guiding them through an otherwise terrifying legal process.

East Texas Child Advocates, Inc. is the ONLY agency in the greater Longview area providing any of these services. We provide services for Gregg County, Harrison County, Upshur County, Panola County, and more.
