WriterCoach Connection is a Berkeley-based nonprofit with trained community-based coaches who engage middle and high school students to think critically and express their ideas confidently in writing. Our volunteer coaches bring their commitment to public education and their passion for writing to our students.
We focus on underserved schools and meet students where they are academically and emotionally. To support teacher instruction and to ensure equity in the classroom, we provide individualized attention to every student in the class.
Our vision is that all students discover the power and richness of their own voices and learn to communicate their ideas with clarity and confidence to enable them to participate successfully in personal and academic challenges, career options, and community conversations. We know that as these students succeed, the entire community benefits.
