Ohio Citizen Action-Columbus

Ohio Citizen Action has worked to foster environmental protection and consumer activism for over 30 years. With 60,000 members statewide, Ohio Citizen Action is the state’s largest environmental organization. Its campaigns involve organizing direct community pressure on Ohio’s largest polluters, and are the best way to achieve significant, long-term changes in facility operations. We combine original, newsmaking research, an extraordinary ability to stay in touch with members door-to-door and on the phone, and community campaigns. These campaigns offer practical ways for members to make the most of whatever time they can spare: signing petitions, writing letters, making phone calls, talking to neighbors, or speaking out at community meetings. That's how Citizen Action gets results.

Our Columbus office is focused on ending the destructive practice of mountaintop removal coal mining by reducing our demand here in Ohio for that type of coal.
