    Sobre Nós

Since 1997 Shimmering Light has served thousands of adults and youth in many different programs that explore, model and teach more sustainable ways of life. We are bridge builders, knowing that all of us, regardless of what lifestyles we are living, are able to contribute to creating a world worth leaving to future generations. We also know that all of us benefit in our mental, emotional and physical health through nature connection. We have a special interest in making nature and nature-based education accessible to many people who may not ordinarily have access. This has included people healing from abuse, addiction, incarceration, and military service. injury or illness and people living with differing abilities and/or chronic illness. We have closely collaborated with dozens of local organizations. We received the 2007 Community Partner award from CCE of Ontario County for our work co-creating Finger Lakes Farm to Cafeteria. One of our co-founders, Deborah Denome, received the Canandaigua Athena award in 2008 for her work promoting women in leadership. Ontario ARC has communicated that we have been one of their most successful partners in their Therapeutic Horticulture program.
