The Set Me Free Project

Sobre Nós

The Set Me Free Project began in the spring of 2014 after much training, research, and education on the evils of human trafficking. After talking to many educators in the community, we learned that there was simply no education and prevention training on the dangers of human trafficking in Nebraska public schools. As we continued to research other states, we found that although there was some prevention education on trafficking in larger communities, programs were few and far between. Because of that, we are now serving the community at large by bringing awareness and education to students, parents, leaders, and educators and by empowering our youth to value themselves and protect themselves from trafficking and social-media dangers.

We have also recognized the lack of awareness that exists in industries that may see trafficked victims come through their doors. We then began to educate those industries, such as medical communities, community service providers, and others to recognize a trafficked victim and begin to implement steps to help protect and/or rescue those victims. In May 2015, The Set Me Free Project was formed as an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation
