In August 1983 the our concept was conceived and developed by Frank Russell, Theodoric Russell, Walker D. Russell, Clarence James, Dennis Threlkeld, Eddie Mason and Michael Reed, all member of the Pontiac community.
YDI evolved from three predecessor organizations; Oakland County All Star Basketball Clinic, Inc (1971-1978), Campy Russell-Terry Furlow Fundamental Basketball Camp (1977-1979), and United Professional Athletes In Action, Inc. (1979-1983). From 1971 to the present these four organizations have touched the lives of over 3,000 young men and women, many of whom have gone on and become productive members of various communities throughout America.
Our aim is to provide training, guidance, direction and constructive activities to young people so that they can become productive, contributing members of society.
