Center for Engaged Scholarship

The Center for Engaged Scholarship is a small dynamic organization that supports social science scholars in creating a more democratic society that is focused on racial, environmental, economic and gender justice. We are a 100 percent virtual non-profit. We started the Center for Engaged Scholarship in 2014 to increase the engagement of doctoral students in the social sciences with social movement organizations. We do this primarily with a national-level PhD dissertation fellowship program. Our goal is to encourage many more graduate students to do research that will help build stronger social movements to realize the promise of a more democratic and egalitarian society in the United States.
