About the Organization: Green Up Our Schools is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to reduce the amount of material sent to landfill through early student engagement. We provide grant funding, structure, and assistance to elementary schools on the CO Front Range as well as Southern CA to empower student environmental leaders and take on waste reduction programs. Schools apply to our program and if successful participate for 3-6 years, carrying out two waste reduction projects each year in addition to tracking progress, forming student Green Teams and educating the school community on waste reduction efforts.
