The Catholic Worker does not have a Mission statement per se. If it did it might be from Matthew 25:35-36. Sometimes known as the corporal works of mercy:
Feed the hungry,
Give drink to the thirsty,
Clothe the naked,
Care for the ill,
Visit the imprisoned,
Welcome the stranger.
At St. Thomas House ‘welcoming the stranger’ means we invite houseless families into our home. And all that taking care of a home and the people within it entails – paying for rent, utilities, food, cooking that food, doing lots of dishes and laundry.
