Connecticut Invention Convention

Sobre Nós

The Connecticut Invention Convention (CIC) seeks to encourage K-8 children's interest in STEM (Science, Techology, Engineering and Math) careers by providing a curriculum, and training teachers to instruct them in inventing and innovating skills. More than 100 schools have adopted this annual program, and close to 10,000 students, half of them girls, participate annually in local schools' "invention conventions" presenting their inventions. Each school selects student inventors to attend the state Connecticut Invention Convention "finals" at the University of Connecticut in May, where student inventors present their inventions to their peers and judges, vying for awards and recognition, while getting an introduction to the University. The CIC's goal is to inspire children to become life-long problem solvers and creative thinkers, through the process of invention, innovation and entrepreneurship.
